About

All our carpets are authentic and imported directly from the original source, which means we cut out the middle man and offer better deals both to weavers in remote villages of Central Asia and to our customers. Most of the vintage rugs are sourced from Afghanistan (Herat, Kabul, Mazar-e-Sharif) to where I travel twice a year to replenish the stocks. We also have our exclusive new carpets woven by the dedicated weavers in villages in the west of Turkmenistan using the old Turkmen tribal designs. By doing this we monitor the process from the very start when wool is first collected from the famous Turkmen Karakoul sheep, then it is spun and dyed using natural dyes (tree roots, yuzerlik steppe grass, nut/pomegranate shells) and finally hand woven to become what’s probably the most beautiful piece of art in the world – a Turkmen Carpet.

Below, we have put together a short photo session on carpet weaving process, feel free to look through the presentation to get a better idea how carpets are made!
